| Vote NO on Proposed Initiative Act #1! |
[Oct. 15th, 2008|05:57 pm] |
| [ | mood |
| | frustrated | ] | Those voting in Arkansas in November:
In case you are unaware, this Proposed Initiative is trying to ban cohabiting partners who are unmarried from adopting or being foster parents in our state. It was introduced to keep homosexual couples from raising children, since they can not legally marry, although it also applies to unmarried straight couples.
This is the most vile thing I have seen proposed in a very long time. Children need loving homes that are stable and safe. Period. There should be no reason that one's lifestyle should keep them from taking in foster children or adopting if they abide by every other requirement to do so. There are too many children in the system. Anyone who is willing to give a good home and care to a troubled child should be allowed.
There are far worse homes that children end up in.
This is just plain ignorant. No one in this day and age should be looked down upon in such a way. Everyone is created equal. Judge not, lest you be judged.
Have some compassion for your fellow humans! We should be miles past segregating or denying rights to others! |

It's been some time since I have really posted anything here. Pretty much the only thing I've been using my internet connection for is to check my messages, look for Christmas present ideas, or catch up on the news. I have literally only talked to family outside of work, I haven't really contacted anyone else. Then again, no one has tried contacting me.
Work is great, I finally got paired with a doctor instead of floating. It feels strange, having less of a workload. I am still working pretty much 5 days a week for 9-10 hours a shift, getting hella overtime and after hours pay, but now I am actually getting a day off here or there. The season of sick has officially arrived.
Tim graduates in a couple of weeks. Our future is up in the air until he finds a job he (we) can be content with. Will we stay or will we go?
Its amazing all the changes that have happened in the course of a year. Plenty more to come in the next.
There are certain things that I have learned, and certain things I have finally taught myself to avoid that I never realized caused me so much grief. I finally had the support to step back and reevaluate. I'm happy... and I'm stubborn. I enjoy simplicity.
Sorry if this sounds blunt or cryptic. This is one reason I haven't been socializing on the internet, I just don't seen to have good chatting/blogging etiquitte at the moment. I don't have any idea how what I type comes across to others. I promise I am better in person, thanks to work forcing it back out of me. My confidence restored.
So to all those out there who might care to read, here I am. Have I changed too much? |

After 5 years of sitting on a monstrosity of a computer chair, asking for a new one for birthdays/christmas and never getting one, I finally took it upon myself to buy a new chair.
RIP ghetto chair. You had no cushion in your seat or real back support, but still I sat in you for hours on end.
From now on I sit in luxury! |

Is it wrong that the thing I want to do most right now (on a Friday night) is play some sort of board game? |

I have officially become a wildlife photographer with my new lens. On our way out of Buffalo Point campgrounds, we saw a herd of deer next to the road. I really like the way this one looks:

Heading back to town, the sun was setting. I finally got to stop at this over look at the right time and take a picture of the sunset:

| | I'm done! | ] | Today was the last day at school, we cleared, got our diplomas, got our lamps and pins, and I managed to walk away with a little something extra:

This has been the wildest, hardest, most gratifying year I have ever had. |
